Coach Harvey's story

"Coach Mike Harvey is the Head Coach and Director of Track and field with Spartan Track Club Hawaii. He's also the Head Track and field Coordinator at Maryknoll School. Coach Harvey is a former collegiate and professional athlete, a 4-year letter winner in Football and Track at New Mexico State University. Coach Harvey was an accomplished sprinter at the collegiate level. The 1994, Big West 100m Champion as a freshman. With a PR of 10.41 in the 100m back in college, Coach Harvey also played rugby for New Mexico State Univ. After completing his degree he began his professional career as a software developer with American Airlines in Texas.

Coach Harvey played on the USA Sevens Rugby Team from 2002 - 2006. Originally from Waco, TX Coach Harvey and his family moved to Honolulu. During his personal time, he still competes in the 100m Open/Masters Division.
A 2019 Team USA Masters athlete, and 2019 Indoor 60m National Champion. He is a full-time IT Sr Manager with Hawaiian Airlines with over two decades in the IT industry
Coach Harvey specializes in speed development, acceleration, and sprint mechanics. He is one of only a few in the State of Hawaii that retains a USATF Level II Coaching credentials specializing in sprints, hurdles, and relays "
