About Coach Mike

Coach Mike Harvey brings an elite combination of athletic experience, professional achievement, and coaching excellence to the athletes of Spartan Track Club Hawaii and Maryknoll School.

He is a USATF Level 3 Coach — the highest level of track and field certification awarded by USA Track & Field — and has worked with:

  • Olympian sprinters

  • Collegiate athletes

  • National champions

  • Junior Olympic qualifiers

  • State champions

  • League champions and finalists

Athletic Background

As a student-athlete, Coach Mike was a four-year letter winner in Football and Track at New Mexico State University, where he became the 1994 Big West 100m Champion during his freshman year.

His athletic career also extended to rugby — representing New Mexico State Rugby and competing for the USA Sevens Rugby Team (2002–2006).

Professional Career

Beyond the track, Coach Mike applies the same discipline and leadership to his professional life. He currently serves as a Software Engineering Manager with Alaska Airlines, leading key technology initiatives that drive innovation and reliability across airline operations.

Continued Passion for Competition

Coach Mike remains an active competitor in the 100m Open/Masters Division, earning recognition as a 2019 Team USA Masters athlete and Indoor 60m National Champion.

His unwavering passion for the sport, his commitment to athlete development, and his balance of professional excellence and athletic achievement embody the Spartan Track Club Hawaii mission:

About Coach Davis

Coach Davis is one of the most respected and accomplished coaches in Hawaii’s track and field community, bringing years of experience working with elite-level athletes, including national champions, multi-event specialists, and All-Americans.

Renowned for his technical expertise and holistic coaching approach, Coach Davis has developed a reputation for producing athletes who thrive in both multi-events (decathlon/heptathlon) and jumping disciplines.

Coaching Accomplishments

In 2024, Coach Davis achieved a remarkable milestone — coaching five All-Americans at the same National Championship, a rare and impressive accomplishment that highlights both his skill and consistency as a coach.

His athletes have gone on to become national champions, state record holders, and college scholarship recipients, with many continuing to compete at the collegiate and national levels.

Coach Davis’s experience extends across sprints, jumps, and multi-events, making him an invaluable member of Spartan Track Club Hawaii’s coaching staff and a trusted mentor to developing athletes throughout the islands.

About Coach Chad

Coach Chad leads Spartan Track Club Hawaii’s middle distance, distance, and cross country programs — developing athletes who specialize in events ranging from the 800m to 5000m. His unique combination of scientific expertise, athletic background, and coaching insight makes him a key contributor to the club’s success.

Athletic & Coaching Background

A former collegiate athlete at Northern Arizona University, Coach Chad brings first-hand experience from one of the most respected distance running programs in the country. He also competed internationally as a member of The Running Room Racing Team (Canada) and the Calgary International Track Club (Alberta, Canada).

In addition to his coaching role, Coach Chad is an active member of the USATF Officials Crew (Apprentice status), helping ensure fair and professional standards at meets across Hawaii.

Education & Professional Career

Coach Chad holds a PhD in Molecular Biosciences and Bioengineering from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, where he now serves as the Assistant Vice Provost for Research and Scholarship. His academic background provides a deep understanding of physiology, biomechanics, and performance optimization — all of which inform his coaching approach.

About Coach Terrence

Coach Terrence was raised in Las Vegas, Nevada before moving to Hawaii in 2021. A lifelong student of the sport, he has been running track since 2016 and continues to train and compete with the goal of representing the Philippines National Team — either as an athlete or a coach.

Athletic & Coaching Background

Since 2020, Coach Terrence has been affiliated with Pinoy Athletics, a national team in the Philippines dedicated to supporting and developing grassroots track and field programs. His leadership and dedication to the sport led to his appointment as Co-Captain for the team’s debut at their first national competition.

In 2021, Coach Terrence began his coaching career under Coach Mike Harvey at Maryknoll School, where he quickly developed a passion for helping young athletes grow. The following summer, he transitioned to Spartan Track Club Hawaii, where he has played a key role in helping numerous athletes achieve personal bests in the sprints and speed events.

Coach Terrence’s approach combines his ongoing experience as a competitive athlete with his commitment to athlete development. He emphasizes:
